Ashton

Here are some photos of Ashton. You will see him looking cute while he is on "stay", graduation day from obedience class with "dad", close to the new pool in his yard; and  relaxing with Lucky. He can't wait to be a star and email his puppy friends.

Tim and I wanted to give you the one year update on Ashton. It is hard to believe that I picked him up and brought him home the night of Hurricane Katrina. He graduated from Miami Dade College on the one year anniversary that he came to live with us! He did very well in obedience class and was the first dog we have had to actually finish all of the classes. He just loved the social aspect of class!

I am not sure how we ever thought Lucky enjoyed being an only dog. She and Ashton usually play from morning until night. When separated - vet visits, class time, etc. they hate it. Ashton is the sweetest dog we have had - his favorite spot at night to sleep is on his back in the middle of mom and dad. Sometimes his head is on the pillow, sometimes we wake to find back legs in the air. Like Lucky, he likes to sleep underneath the duvet.

He has a very large vocabulary - he sings, grunts, yips, and speaks. He is a great hunter, he chases lizards (and catches them), he is responsible for keeping the pigeon and blackbird population under control in South Dade county and has stunned a few possums.  He is also smart enough to stay away from the bufo toads.  He is still a "counter surfer" and now that he is taller than Lucky by about 3 - 4 inches he can reach things that she can't. We are looking forward to Dal events so that Ashton and Lucky can meet some other spotted spoiled pups!

Take care,
Meryl  & Tim
