Tribute for Pete

Pete came into Dan & Christy’s lives as a 9-week old puppy.  (He had the same birthday as Christy, so we just knew it was meant to be.)  From the minute we brought him home, we knew he was special and the next 15 years would prove to be the best anyone could ask for.   He was a wonderful watch dog, an avid swimmer and a tireless ball retriever.  Pete walked in 4 March of Dimes walk-a-thons, and finished them all.  When he taught us about the ‘Dalmatian smile’, it was the best gift ever!  He was so smart, he even did it when we asked him to!  When we got the word in March 2006 that he was ‘terminal’ and would have 2 – 4 months to live, we were heartbroken.  We made a deal with Pete, that when he quit smiling, we knew it would be time to say goodbye.

In December, our loyal & faithful friend quit smiling.  But Dan & Christy smile a lot from all the wonderful memories Pete gave us.   We miss you, but we’ll see you at the Bridge, you handsome boy!
