06.15.2019 – Happy Tails Update!!
Wow! It has been a year already!! Hey Lucas Happy Adoptaversary!!! Happy Adoptaversary😀🐾❤️
And thanks Pilot Keith for all that you do!!
This section contains stories of our volunteers driving and sometimes flying our Dalmatian clients to rescue, medical appointments, foster care, and furever homes.
Try it sometime you will love the experience!
Good morning everyone! We are Stella, the cutie with the black patch on my eye, and my new friend Gordon, the big Texan laying down taking a rest. We came from Houston and Louisiana by way of Alabama with many caring people transporting and hosting us and Dr. Susan, our very capable pilot who landed us safely in Fort Pierce, Florida, last night. From there, we were scooped up by Miss Lucie, who was a wonderful host for us overnight. It was a “ruff” night for us because we’ve been in so many different places recently, but we’re confident in a very bright future. We are now on our way to see our new vet in Miami. From there we hope to get into foster homes ASAP so we can settle down for a while. Although forever homes would be ideal. Gotta run for now, so stay tuned for more of our big adventure.
Lots of love, Stella The Bayou Babe and Gordon The Big Texan!!!
-Pooches Gracias to ALL 🤗🐾❤️✈️😎

Hope is thriving nicely. We can see a change in her appearance already after having nutritious food and deworming. no seizures have been detected. If you are interested in Hope please go to our adoption page and complete the application. Email the application to us at FlaDalRescue@aol.com. – Pati
Hope is thankfully heartworm negative. She has intestinal parasites and medication has been ordered. Doc placed her on phenobarbital as she has a history of seizures. Calories and lots of good care are needed in the short term. Hope has a decubitus pressure ulcer on her hip bone which has begun to heal.
Good morning all. Little Hope continues to thrive!! She has a new script for phenobarbital (although she hasn’t had any seizures) and is eating like she’s never had food. She loves to play with the other Dals. She’s quite a special girl. She loves her safe space and has a new big fluffy bed she gets lost in. She’s a real joy to care for. Hoping for a forever home real soon! She’s ready!! – Patti
Thanks again everyone for giving of your time to get sweet Pongo (soon to be named Pete) to Ga. We will certainly update with photos when he and Sophie fly to Dal Rescue (not Dallas). Thanks again!! – Patti ;0)
Thanks to our volunteers we have another precious pup on his way to rescue. We sincerely appreciate and try to recognize the help you all give. Thank You!! – Ryan
Yesterday Kelly Lackner & I drove to Lexington to meet a woman who drove Sophie a little further south where she met someone else for the next leg. These people have never met Sophie but they took several hours out of their day to take her a little farther to her final destination!!!
How cool is that! There are transports like this going on EVERY DAY ALL OVER THE COUNTRY FOR DOGS AND CATS!!!! If you are interested please contact your local shelter or dog or cat rescue to let them know.
Sophie ended the day near Atlanta, Georgia where she will be staying until a pilot will FLY her down in his plane to Miami, Florida.
I was getting updates all day. My heart was so happy seeing people who will never meet Sophie again give her love & affection on her travels.
So while we were in Lexington we met Paula May Owens who runs Little Hills of Kentucky rescue (she pulls the dogs from the 2 high kill shelters near Cumberland lake & keeps them until we have room in our foster homes) and brought EIGHT dogs back up to Cincinnati to put in our foster homes!!!! Woo-hoo!!!! I took 4 pups whose momma was attacking them for Lady Gaga to care for.
Thank you to the following drivers & coordinators: Beth Kuhn, Chrystina Hoffman, Gretchen Hakola, Kathy Morgan Miller, Kimberly Rogers Byerley, Ramiro & Tammy Ramos, Ryan Quinn, Stacy Barnes Julian, Tina Erickson, Tina Phelps Weyler, Tricia Connell Johnson, & Wanda Hester. It truly takes a village!!!!!
There is a listing on Facebook of transport that needs drivers for every state. Just search for the group “Kentucky Transport” (or whatever state you live in). I’ve been driving for about 7 years, and it is truly a joy to be part of saving these wonderful dogs and cats. – Gretchen 05.27.2019
